An Artful Approach to Exceptional Living
With more than 28 years of experience spanning luxury interior design, fine artistry, architectural finishes, and residential construction, April Burns brings a distinctive perspective to the creation of exceptional living environments.
As the founder and Principal Design Specialist of JANAPA, April has cultivated a design philosophy rooted in the belief that true luxury is found in the thoughtful balance of artistry, architecture, materiality, and refined craftsmanship.
Her creative foundation began in Philadelphia, where an early immersion in the arts shaped her appreciation for composition, proportion, texture, and architectural expression. She subsequently pursued specialized training in traditional Italian plaster techniques, decorative artistry, and custom architectural finishes. Over the course of 15 years as a muralist and decorative finish artist, she developed an exceptional sensitivity to materials, surface treatments, and the nuanced details that define sophisticated interiors.
Complementing her artistic expertise is an extensive background in residential construction and architectural renovation. Raised in an environment closely connected to builders, contractors, and property development, April developed an understanding of the building process that continues to distinguish her approach to interior design.
Throughout her career, she has designed, renovated, and transformed hundreds of residential properties, from luxury investment residences to expansive custom homes and comprehensive estate renovations across Nevada.
This rare intersection of fine artistry, design expertise, and construction knowledge allows April to approach each commission with a holistic vision—considering not only the aesthetic composition of a space but also its architectural integrity, functionality, craftsmanship, and execution.
JANAPA reflects April’s signature approach to organic modern luxury: a sophisticated interplay of natural materials, sculptural forms, rich textures, bespoke architectural elements, and understated elegance. Her interiors are thoughtfully layered, timeless in character, and tailored to the individuality of each residence and its owners.
With an emphasis on discretion, collaboration, and uncompromising attention to detail, April offers a highly personalized design experience, guiding clients through the transformation of their homes with clarity, creativity, and a commitment to excellence.
Her work is defined by a singular objective: to create extraordinary residences that transcend trends, celebrate individuality, and embody the art of exceptional living.
“True luxury is found in the thoughtful balance of artistry, architecture, materiality, and refined craftsmanship.”
